James D. Guilfoyle

Senior Vice President O&P Europe, Asia & International, LYB
James Guilfoyle oversees manufacturing and commercial operations for Olefins & Polyolefins in Europe, Asia and International markets. He began his career as a chemical engineer in 1993 at Quantum Chemicals and has held various executive roles at LYB. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering and an MBA.
Paula Sanabria

Paula Sanabria

Senior Director EMEAI, Marketing & Commercial Development, Circular & Low Carbon Solutions
Paula and her team are responsible for the marketing and commercial development of the most recent LyondellBasell product family Circulen; driving the growth of the brand and new business models in the market in alignment with the company sustainability strategy and long-term business objectives.
She holds a Masters degree in business administration and management from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain and an Executive MBA from HEC Paris, France with an Energy Advance Certificate from HEC Qatar Foundation in Doha, Qatar and ESMT in Berlin, Germany.

Jaap Rabou leads marketing strategies for valuable growth at LYB. He has over 19 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. Rabou holds an MBA, a master's in international management, and a bachelor's in industrial engineering and management.
Dr. Erik Licht

Dr. Erik Licht

New Business Development Director, APS Europe, LYB
Erik Licht has been the Director of New Business Development for LYB Advanced Polymer Solutions segment since 2018. With over 22 years of extensive industry experience at LYB, he has held a range of technical and strategic roles. Erik received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Bayreuth in 1998, which focused on metallocene catalysts.
His honorary appointments include: Member of the scientific advisory board of the Cluster of Excellence "Living, Adaptive and Energy-Autonomous Materials Systems" at the University of Freiburg since 2020, Deputy Chairman of the Arbeitskreis Polymere of the VDA (German Automotive Association), Member of the PlasticsEurope ad hoc Automotive Group on ELV legislation and Member of the Global Impact Coalition (GIC) – Automotive Plastics Circularity Initiative, driving ELV recycling and closed-loop polymer solutions.
Dr. Daniel Koch

Dr. Daniel Koch

Site Manager Wesseling / Knapsack
Since February 2025, Dr. Daniel Koch has been responsible for managing LyondellBasell's largest European production site in Wesseling-Knapsack and serves as Managing Director of Basell Polyolefine GmbH. The PhD chemist brings over 25 years of international experience in the chemical industry and possesses extensive expertise in operational leadership, strategic site development, and the sustainable transformation of industrial processes.
Previously, Dr. Koch served as Head of Operations for the European sites of the Performance Materials business unit at Covestro, where he drove key initiatives to enhance efficiency and implement forward-looking technologies. At the Wesseling-Knapsack site, which employs around 1,900 people – including 180 apprentices – Dr. Koch holds overall responsibility for operational management, including safety, compliance, plant reliability, efficiency, and investment projects. His work focuses on three strategic objectives: securing and further developing the site in the long term, ensuring reliable raw material supply under increasingly challenging conditions, and transforming production processes toward a sustainable and future-ready industry.
